OMG!
OMG! Where do I even begin to start????!! Meeting Samuel L. Jackson for the time at rehearsals for the Play reading of "A Soldiers Story", going bowling with a sore wrist, attending a star studded gala, or jumping of the Celtics bandwagon an cheering for Orlando last night at Jr Crickets???
I know what you're thinking, THE BEGINNING right?? I have been meaning to write everyday but I wanted to give you guys the full essence of how everything went down.
While sitting in J R Crickets last night reminiscing about this past weekend events with my buddies Precious Bright, Cynthia (Dont forget the) D. Barker, Tracey Bonner, Carla Pearson, Lashandra Little and Jaquitta Willams, I was reminded that our extended weekend kicked off at Midtown Bowling and not the Reading. How could I forget that?! Maybe because the days that followed there was little to no sleep. It went so fast that I wish we could DVR our lives so I can relive this weekend just as I have experienced Grey's Anatomy season finale over and over. Where was I? Oh yes, bowling. The best get togethers are the spur of the moment ones. The Cast of the phenomanal JITNEY took over Midtown Bowling. I had a strained wrist but I was not going to let that stop me from knocking down some pins. Now granted, most of them were gutter balls but we don't make excuses (LeBron James).
Leaving the bowling alley at 3am was not in my plans because I fully realized that I had to be at rehearsals for the reading at 12pm. My body was at the Porter Sanford Theatre on time but my mind was still in College Park. As I stepped outside to find energy, there is Samuel L. Jackson and James Pickens Jr. (Grey's Anatomy) looking for the right door and I am there to the rescue. How cool was that to see Sam Jackson and my favorite Grey's star together???? I can't even begin to put it into words. I can say that Sam Jackson is as loud and cool in person as he is on the Big Screen. The night was filled with the type of energy and love that only the Arts can provide. After the reading we trekked over to the new and beautiful Loews Hotel lobby to help celebrate Mr. Pickens wife's birthday. The party started of a little quiet but once the libation was spread around, good conversation and a whole lot of mixing and mingling went down. To top the night off, the Tony Award nominated director Kenny Leon walked in and we all greeted him with a warm welcome. It feels good to have one of our own getting recognized by the world.
As the night began to wind down a couple of us decided to keep the party going at Waffle House. Samuel L. Jackson was extended an invitation as well and said he said "..........(wait) I can't give away all the good stuff in one blog. You have to check back in to see what went down at the Waffle House, the Star Studded Gala at a house that was once owned by Kenny Rogers and how I jumped of the Celtics bandwagon when they lost. Stay close............
