A Community Conversation
February 01, 2015

Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company and the Center for Civil and Human Rights invite you to join us for a free panel discussion inspired by True Colors' upcoming production, Detroit '67 by Dominique Morisseau.

Join panelists Terry White, the lead prosecutor during the Rodney King trial, Rachel Williams, a professor at the University of Iowa with a focus on the Detroit Riot of 1943, and Michael Skolnik, the political advisor to Russell Simmons and the Editor-in-Chief of Global Grind.

They will discuss an historical perspective on the history of riots and the civil rights movement, and how this translates today in regards to current events involving race relations and police violence. The conversation will strive to broach the subject of how far our country has evolved in 50 years.
