A Note on Industry

Kenny is always reminding us to support all theatre, not just True Colors. To take a chance on a play that you’ve never seen or heard of- reminding us that all plays at one time were new. Across town exciting things are happening that I think I should take a moment and tell you about. Our friend Jasmine Guy is directing Brownie Points downtown. A play about race, perspective, judgments, and truths- where five mothers take their daughters camping in the North Georgia woods and find their views challenged.
A World Premiere by Janece Shaffer- no stranger to writing plays about perspective and transitions within our society. She has a real knack for exploring social change and how it affects us. Janece herself, created change in her own life when she boldly showed her writing to Kenny Leon who was Artistic Director of the Alliance Theatre at the time. He told her if she would write her story into a play they would produce it. She has been writing plays ever since. I think you should check this one out- www.theatricaloutfit.org
